Happy Holidays from Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships!
The holiday season is always a special time for the Binghamton University Liberty Partnerships Program, and this year was no exception. From festive gatherings to community service, our students and team came together to celebrate, give back, and create lasting memories.
We kicked off the holidays with our annual team luncheon and Secret Santa at McCoy’s Chop House. It was an afternoon filled with great food, plenty of laughs, thoughtful gifts, and a deep sense of gratitude. Our team is more than just colleagues—we’re family—and events like this remind us of how fortunate we are to work alongside such caring and dedicated individuals.
Our students, as always, brought their own unique holiday magic to the season. At JCMS, Liberty students celebrated their 4th Annual Secret Santa Holiday Celebration. This cherished tradition is all about building friendships, spreading kindness, and embracing the joy of giving back. From thoughtful gifts to heartfelt smiles, the event was a beautiful reminder of the bonds our students share. It was a day filled with warmth, generosity, and connection—a perfect way to ring in the holidays.
Over at West Middle School, Liberty students demonstrated incredible kindness and teamwork by supporting the school’s food drive for CHOW. They played a vital role in collecting, organizing, and promoting the drive, ensuring its success. Their efforts made a meaningful impact on families in need during this special time of year, embodying the true spirit of the season.
The JCHS Liberty family wrapped up the year with one last day of fun before winter break. During lunch, students showcased their creativity and confidence with some friendly (and hilarious!) rap battles and dancing. The room was filled with laughter and cheer as students came together to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. Beyond the entertainment, it was a heartwarming moment that highlighted the strong sense of community within the Liberty family. They also created a tree of notes made up of positive sayings, holiday movie quotes, doodles and other things that bring the students joy.
Chenango Forks Liberty students took their holiday cheer to a kindergarten class, where they read 'Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree' together, played games, and helped trim the trees. The joy and excitement on the younger students’ faces were priceless, and it was a wonderful opportunity for our Liberty students to connect, give back, and share the holiday spirit.
At BHS, the holiday festivities took the form of a spirited Holiday Spirit Week from December 16th to December 20th. Each day featured a unique theme, and Liberty students joined in on the fun, especially on Monday’s Holiday Cozy Pajama Day and Tuesday’s Santa vs. Grinch Day. To ensure everyone could participate, Liberty provided holiday-themed pajamas, shirts, sweaters, and socks to students who needed them. This allowed everyone to join in the festivities and truly feel part of the celebration. The items were distributed just in time for students to show off their holiday spirit, making the week even more special.
As the year comes to an end, we’re reminded of the joy, generosity, and connection that make this season so special. Whether through laughter-filled events, acts of kindness, or shared moments of celebration, our Liberty community continues to shine brightly. Here’s to another year of making memories and spreading cheer together!
